Five puppies found abandoned inside a bag in a Walmart parking lot in McPherson, Kansas, have been adopted along with their mother, Shrimp.
The puppies, Piglet, Fawn, Calf, Duckling and Bunny, were only about a week old when they were rescued and required round-the-clock care. Canidae Heartland sponsored the adoptions, covering the adoption fees and providing each family with a year’s supply of dog food.
The McPherson Animal Shelter said the puppies grew from fragile newborns into healthy, playful dogs ready for their new homes. The shelter also thanked the local community and the McPherson Citizen Journal for helping raise funds for their medical care and supporting their recovery.
