A dog rescued from an alleged abuse case in Boynton Beach, Florida, is getting a second chance at life.

Now named Hunter, the approximately 4-year-old dog is recovering with Blessed Paws Rescue, where he is receiving medical care and adjusting to a safer, more stable environment.

Police said surveillance video captured two incidents of alleged abuse. Hunter’s former owner was arrested and faces a felony animal cruelty charge.

Hunter still needs training, patience and a loving home. For now, he is adjusting to a safer environment and beginning a hopeful new chapter.
