A K-9 team from the Forrest County Sheriff's Office earned top recognition at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association Annual Conference, competing against 30 K-9 teams from across the state.
Deputy Jacob Hiatt and his K-9 partner, Xen, won five awards, including first place in Top Patrol and Top Narcotics. The duo also earned second place in Vehicle Narcotics Detection, third place in Indoor Narcotics Detection, and the event’s highest honor, the Overall Top Dog Award.
Xen has served with the sheriff’s office since 2023. Department leaders praised the team’s achievement and the important role K-9 units play in supporting law enforcement and public safety.
