An emaciated dog was found abandoned in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, and is now receiving veterinary care.
The 2-year-old German shepherd, named “Sally,” was discovered in extremely poor condition. She was reportedly wearing a rusty choker collar and was covered in feces.
Starting Over Animal Rescue took Sally to a veterinary hospital, where she is being carefully fed small meals as she begins her recovery. Rescuers believe it could take weeks or months for Sally to regain her health. The rescue is asking anyone who recognizes the dog or has information about her previous owner to come forward. They also remind struggling pet owners that resources are available to help with food and medical care before situations become critical.
