Grady, a specially trained facility dog in Sumner County, Tennessee, was honored by local officials on National Dog Day for supporting children involved in criminal cases.

Grady works with Ashley’s Place-Sumner Child Advocacy Center, providing comfort to young victims and witnesses during forensic examinations and court testimony. Officials say his calm presence can help children feel more secure during difficult experiences.

Grady received at least 21 months of training through Canine Companions, a nonprofit organization that trains assistance dogs. Children’s Advocacy Centers of Tennessee also praised the professionals who care for facility dogs and help them support children affected by abuse and neglect.
