A new public art exhibition in West Haven is helping raise funds for a local animal shelter in Connecticut. “The Big Dog Show,” created by sculptor Dale Rogers, features 21 eight-foot-tall steel dog sculptures installed near Savin Rock.
Sponsored by families and businesses, the display has raised $5,000 for the shelter, which currently has several dogs available for adoption. Officials, including Deputy Chief Joseph Romano and Mayor Dorinda Borer, say the funds will support care for the animals and help ease adoption costs for families.
The exhibition runs through May 26, with a pet adoption event scheduled on-site Saturday morning.
