The inaugural World Pup tournament premiered June 10, featuring nearly 50 adoptable rescue puppies competing in a televised, World Cup-inspired soccer competition.
Produced by the creators of the Puppy Bowl, the four-part event showcases puppies from 12 shelters and rescue organizations across the United States, with the goal of promoting pet adoption through entertainment.
Hosted by former U.S. soccer player Jimmy Conrad, the tournament follows a bracket-style format as puppies representing different national teams compete for the World Pup trophy. Every puppy featured in the event is available for adoption, helping participating shelters raise awareness and connect rescue dogs with potential adopters.
