A dog that spent more than eight months at the Animal Friends Humane Society has been reunited with his owner after a social media post helped bring them back together.

The dog, originally named Flash, arrived at the shelter as a stray on Nov. 28, 2025, with a badly injured leg. After receiving treatment and spending time in foster care, he returned to the shelter, where he waited for about 220 days.

A photo of Flash posted by the shelter caught the attention of a man who believed the dog was his missing pet. The dog’s real name was Timber, and the two were finally reunited. The emotional reunion was filled with happy tears, kisses and a wagging tail.
