Puppies training to become future service dogs recently took a special field trip to Mote Marine Aquarium in Sarasota, Florida, as part of a new partnership between Mote Marine and Dogs Inc.

During the visit, the puppies practiced walking on different surfaces, riding elevators and navigating stairs while encountering unfamiliar animals and marine life. The outing also gave them an opportunity to experience new sights, sounds and environments they may encounter as working service dogs, helping them build confidence and improve their socialization and obedience skills.

The aquarium visit is part of the puppies’ broader training to prepare them to remain calm and focused in unfamiliar settings. Dogs Inc. said experiences like this help equip the future service dogs with the skills they will eventually need to support the people who rely on them.
