A missing dog that was ejected from a vehicle during a rollover crash in Vermilion, Ohio, has been found and is now safe after a remarkable rescue effort led in part by local children.
According to reports, the dog was inside a car involved in a crash on Liberty Avenue when it was thrown from the vehicle and ran into nearby wooded areas. The dog later went missing, prompting a search by authorities and community members.
The breakthrough came when a group of children spotted the injured animal near the Lake Erie shoreline and alerted others, helping guide rescuers to its location. First responders were eventually able to recover the dog safely. Authorities say the animal is now recovering after the ordeal, which began with the crash and ended with a community-assisted rescue that brought the dog home safely.
