Patches, one of the Marshall County Humane Society’s longest-term residents, has finally found a forever home after spending 2,755 days about 7½ years at the Kentucky shelter.
Patches was adopted by shelter employee Kylie Hiller, who has worked at the organization for about nine months. Hiller said the once-shy dog rarely left her kennel when she first arrived but gradually gained confidence through daily interaction, patience, and one-on-one time with staff.
The shelter marked the adoption with a celebratory sendoff, where supporters gathered to wish Patches well and purchased items from a wish list to help her transition into her new home.
