A man was arrested after a puppy reportedly fell from the bed of his moving pickup truck, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
Deputies said they witnessed the German Shepherd puppy fall onto the roadway and sidewalk, leaving the animal visibly injured and in pain. The incident led to an animal-cruelty investigation.
The driver, identified as 64-year-old Victor Martinez, was arrested on a cruelty-to-non-livestock-animals charge. His bail was set at $6,000.
