Three severely neglected dogs are recovering in the care of the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire after being rescued from what officials described as one of the worst neglect cases they have encountered.
The three poodle mixes, two females and one male, were found covered in heavily matted fur that concealed their bodies. Rescue staff said the dogs required full shaves and will need dental surgeries, while one of the females was also diagnosed with cancer and a tongue lesion.
According to the rescue league, investigators have identified the dogs’ former owner, and the animals are now fully under the organization’s care as they receive medical treatment and prepare for future adoption.
