Commuters at Boston’s Park Street Station got an unexpected treat as about a dozen dogs took over the station for a special event dubbed “Bark Street.”
Organized in partnership with the Animal Rescue League of Boston, the event was part of the MBTA’s 130th anniversary celebrations. Passengers had the chance to meet adoptable dogs, learn about fostering and volunteering opportunities, and pick up a playful “Barkie Card,” inspired by the transit system’s traditional CharlieCard.
Beyond promoting animal welfare and adoption, the event brought smiles to commuters, offering a welcome break from the daily rush. The MBTA said more special events are planned as part of its anniversary celebrations.
